NOTICE OF RACE
- RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.3 Class rules will apply.
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
2.1 World Sailing regulation 20.4 applies. Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority (OA) in all or any of the races, if applicable.
3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Hobie 16 class.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing registration form and sending prior to the first race, together with the required fee.
4 FEES
4.1 Required fees are as follows:

5 SCHEDULE
5.1 Registration: Online Proregatta.com prior to the event

From 6:00pm to 9:00pm

7 Dates of racing:
Date 8/31/19 through 9/01/19
7.1 Number of races:
Class Races per day As many as applicable
7.2 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race, each day is 11am.
8 THE COURSES
As presented in the Sailing Instructions.
9 PENALTY SYSTEM
9.1 The Scoring Penalty, rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two- turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn penalty.
10 SCORING
10.1 The scoring system is as follows: Low Point System.
10.2 1 race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
10.3 (a)When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b)When from 5 to 10 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
11 SUPPORT BOATS
Support boats shall be properly identified.
12 PRIZES
Prizes will be given as follows: Top 3 finishers in class.
13 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), by the Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race. Competitors agree to take any and all responsibility for the nautical qualities of their vessels, the rigging, the crew's ability and the safety equipment. Competitors also agree to take any and all responsibility for damages caused to third persons (bodily injury included but not limited thereto) or their belongings, to themselves (bodily injury included but not limited thereto) or to their belongings, ashore and at sea as a consequence of their participation in the regatta, relieving of any responsibility The Puerto Rico Hobie Cat Association and Escuela de Vela de Carolina, and all persons involved in the organization under whatever qualification. Competitors are to be acquainted with Racing Rules of Sailing Part 1 Fundamental Rule 4: "The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone". In any case, competitors agree that The Puerto Rico Hobie Cat Association Organization and Escuela de Vela de Carolina, the sponsors and their agents, have no responsibility for loss of life or injury to members or others or for the loss of, or damage to any vessel or property.
