Club Reciprocity
The Royal Cork Yacht Club extends a warm welcome to members of reciprocal clubs worldwide.
As the Oldest Yacht Club in the World it is our privilege to share the benefits and history of our Historic Club with sailors the world over.
The Royal Cork founded in 1720 is recognised as the oldest yacht club in the world. Our History was researched and documented by an eminent Irish historian Dr Alicia St Ledger and was published some five years ago to great acclaim.
Our Club House is situated in the village of Crosshaven in Cork Harbour. Our facilities include a Club House with a top class restaurant, bar and changing facilities, marina berthing for 300 boats, dinghy facilities and ample parking.
We currently have a membership of 2,000 including overseas, country, and juniors, and the club is active in promoting all kinds of water based sports. We put particular emphasis on our Junior and Youth programmes and are proud to say that we teach some 300 children, each summer, using the Irish Sailing Association syllabus. Cork Week Regatta has in the past 36 years established itself as one of the premier Keel Boat Regattas in the World, and has in the past attracted over 500 entries. We have also hosted World and Continental Championship Events for dinghies, keelboats and cruisers.
The Royal Cork Yacht Club offers visiting members full use of the facilities during their visit including our bar, the Globe Restaurant and Five Gold Anchor Marina facilities. Accommodation is available at a preferential rate to our reciprocal partners at the nearby 4* Carrigaline Court Hotel.
Members of visiting clubs should contact the Royal Cork prior to their visit with a letter of introduction from their club.
Royal Cork Members visiting Reciprocal Clubs
